JP Miller Before Mica: What the Timeline Shows

If you only know JP Miller from what happened after Mica Miller’s death, you are starting the story years too late. The deeper timeline reaches back through his first marriage, church relationships, sworn allegations, police contacts involving Mica, and eventually the federal case.
What makes this worth laying out chronologically is not that every allegation becomes proven just because it appears in a record. It is that the same names, conflicts and categories of alleged conduct keep reappearing as the years move forward.
This article separates sworn allegations, police records, Internet theories and federal allegations from established findings. JP Miller has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and has not been charged with causing Mica Miller’s death. North Carolina authorities ruled Mica’s death a suicide.

The JP Miller Story Did Not Begin With Mica
Before Mica Miller became part of the story, JP Miller had already built a family and church life with his first wife, Alison Williams. They had four children and later divorced.
After Mica’s death, Alison filed a sworn affidavit describing her own marriage to JP and alleging that she learned in 2015 that JP and Mica were having an affair while Mica was married to Jeremy, whom Alison described as JP’s best friend and a member of the church staff.
Alison’s affidavit is an allegation source, not a court finding. But it matters because Alison also said Mica later reached out to her while Mica was alive and asked how to get away from JP.
The affidavit also brought Chris and Suzie Skinner into the timeline. Chris drowned in a community pool on September 6, 2021. Alison alleged that Chris had confronted JP roughly two weeks earlier. Suzie later gave investigators her own account of Chris’s medical condition and routine, while acknowledging she could not know his intent. The available material does not establish that JP caused Chris Skinner’s death.
What the JP Miller Timeline Shows Before 2024
The Paper Trail Around JP and Mica
By early 2024, JP and Mica’s separation was producing a much larger paper trail. Mica reported concerns involving hospitalization, access to her vehicle, a private investigator, tire damage, a tracking device, attempts to obtain protection, and an intimate image she said JP posted online.
The records and Mica’s reports should not be collapsed into one blanket finding that every allegation was proven. What they do show is how quickly the conflict around the marriage escalated in the months before April 27, 2024.
On April 27, Mica traveled from Myrtle Beach toward Lumber River State Park. Authorities reconstructed her route through surveillance, phone and scene evidence. North Carolina investigators concluded she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and ruled the death a suicide.
Questions, Theories and the Record
The case has generated theories about Mica’s route, the 911 call, the location of shell casings, witnesses at the park, JP’s alibi and the later death of fisherman Johnnie Jacobs. Some of those are legitimate questions. Others remain unsupported Internet theories.
Jacobs died in a 2025 traffic collision. The reported collision record describes a two-vehicle crash in which another driver allegedly failed to stop. No documented evidence connects Jacobs’s death to Mica’s case.
That distinction matters. An unanswered question is not automatically evidence of a crime, and repetition online does not turn a theory into a finding.
The Federal Indictment and What It Does Not Prove
The later federal indictment is where several subjects already present in Mica’s reports reappear. Prosecutors allege a course of cyberstalking that included unwanted communications, tracking or surveillance, interference with daily life, an intimate image and damage involving her tires. A second count alleges materially false statements to federal investigators.
Those are allegations, not convictions. JP Miller has pleaded not guilty. The federal case does not charge him with causing Mica Miller’s death, and the indictment does not change the official suicide ruling.
The Bottom Line
The reason to go backward in this story is not to manufacture one giant theory. It is to see how much history existed before April 27.
When the family history, sworn allegations, police contacts, Mica’s own reports and later federal allegations are placed in order, the story becomes much broader than one day at a state park. Watch the full video above for Paul’s complete breakdown and reactions.
